Two former Carolina Panthers quarterbacks were among a group of nine players who worked out for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday.
Per the league transaction wire, Jack Plummer and Hendon Hooker were brought in for a look by the Steelers today. Both spent time with the Panthers in 2025.
Plummer—who split his collegiate career between Purdue, California and Louisville—first joined Carolina as an undrafted free agent in the spring of 2024. Later that summer, he was added to the team’s practice squad, where he spent the majority of his first NFL campaign.
The Panthers waived Plummer before the start of the regular season in late August.
Hooker, a 2023 third-round pick of the Detroit Lions, was signed to the practice squad by the Panthers two days after Plummer’s departure. The Greensboro, N.C. native would be let go on Nov. 4.
