Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur provided injury updates on several players coming out of Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos. With a game on Saturday night this week, Tuesday serves functionally as the team’s Wednesday, so an injury report will be coming later Tuesday.

The players referenced by LaFleur on Tuesday included receiver Christian Watson, edge rusher Micah Parsons, right tackle Zach Tom, edge rusher Lukas Van Ness, running back MarShawn Lloyd, safety Evan Williams, edge rusher Brenton Cox Jr. and running back Josh Jacobs.

The injury updates from LaFleur’s Tuesday press conference:

— On all the injuries: “This injury list is pretty substantial. We got a lot of things to figure out in next couple days.” The Packers play the Chicago Bears on Saturday night.

— On if Zach Tom, who left Sunday with a knee injury, can play Saturday: “We’ll see. I know he’s going to fight and try to. We’ll give him the week.”

— On if Christian Watson can play Saturday against the Bears: “Not quite sure. We’ll give him up to game time.” Not just a pain tolerance issue with chest/shoulder, but also a functional issue. Needs to prove he can play through it during the week. On Sunday, the Packers sent him to a local Denver hospital to ensure Watson was OK. “Thankfully everything checked out good.”

— On Micah Parsons: LaFleur confirmed Parsons has an ACL tear, but he said Parsons has not had surgery and isn’t sure when it will happen. Parsons is currently in Dallas awaiting the birth of his child, but LaFleur expects him to be around the team in Green Bay while on injured reserve. He wouldn’t get into specifics about the injury other than needing surgery to fix the ACL.

— On Lukas Van Ness, who returned from a foot injury on Sunday: “I thought Van Ness was definitely a boost for us.” Like what he saw in terms of energy and playstyle in his return. The 2023 first-rounder will play a big role in helping replace Parsons at edge rusher.

— On Brenton Cox Jr, who could return from IR: “He’s been looking good in practice. We’ll see what that amounts to over the course of the week.” Cox could be activated from IR to replace Parsons on the 53-man roster.

— On MarShawn Lloyd, who injured his hamstring while designated for return from IR: “It’s one of those things that’s very, very unfortunate. To be in that spot again, what do you say to him?” LaFleur said he feels “extremely bad” for Lloyd, who is likely to remain on injured reserve and miss the rest of the season.

— LaFleur said Evan Williams, who has a knee injury, is another player who would be given the week to see if he can play Saturday.

— On Josh Jacobs, who played through a knee injury: “He’s battling through.” LaFleur said Jacobs would not practice if the Packers were doing more than a walk-through on Tuesday. He said Jacobs got hit in the knee early in the game on Sunday and had to battle through it the rest of the way.
