Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix turned in an impressive performance against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, and opposing coach Matt LaFleur came away impressed.
“He’s a great athlete, No. 1, but I’ll have to go back and truly sit back and watch the tape, but he made a ton of plays,” LaFleur said when asked about Nix following the game. “He made plays in rhythm, he played made plays off schedule. That’s what the great ones do, and he played great tonight.”
Nix went 23-of-34 passing for 302 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions, leading the Broncos to a 34-26 win that clinched a spot in the NFL playoffs. Nix also made plays with his legs, ending the day with no sacks taken and 12 yards gained on the ground (before losing two yards on kneeldowns).
“That’s a real impressive rush front, and to come out of that game with no sacks, thought we did a good job, we had a good protection plan,” Denver coach Sean Payton said. “He really made some plays with his feet, and he made some plays up in the pocket.”
Nix now has 27 total touchdowns this season with three games remaining. He was invited to the Pro Bowl as an injury alternate last season after scoring 34 touchdowns. Up next for Nix and Co. is a showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars at Empower Field at Mile High in Week 16.
