Kenneth Gainwell has had a tremendous debut season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but his breakout year wasn’t possible without the help of one veteran.
Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Gainwell credited one player for his career resurgence in Pittsburgh — Aaron Rodgers. Gainwell elaborated that Rodgers’ trust in his receiving abilities meant a lot to him and his recent success.
In 14 games, Gainwell has rushed for 451 yards and four touchdowns on 93 attempts, boasting an outstanding 4.8 yards per carry. A threat in the receiving game, Gainwell has also caught 57 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns.
Seeing more opportunities as both a rusher and a receiver over the past few games, Gainwell has a realistic shot at eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark, needing just 217 yards from scrimmage over the next three games to reach this feat.
