At 9-4-1, the Green Bay Packers are a real long shot to get the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs entering the final three weeks of the 2025 season, but there are a few paths leading to a first-round bye for Matt LaFleur’s team.
While other scenarios may exist, we have narrowed down eight different results in two different scenarios that would allow the Packers to win the NFC North and secure the top seed in the NFC.

The paths begin with Rams vs. Seahawks on Thursday night. The two paths then branch out based on the result from the first game of Week 16.
Here is the first set of eight results, in order:
Let’s say the Rams win. The dream would not be over. The path would just look different.
The second set of eight results, in order:
Panthers OR 49ers over Seahawks
Of course, eight results, including several upsets, is unlikely to happen. That’s why the Packers are a long shot to be the No. 1 seed. But if the Packers can go 3-0 to finish the year and catch a few breaks, the path to a first-round bye is, in theory, possible.
