GREEN BAY — Zach Tom isn’t giving up hope of playing in Saturday night’s crucial NFC North showdown with the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, but the Green Bay Packers right tackle knows he will need to feel better on game day than he was feeling Thursday afternoon.

Tom, who suffered a left knee injury during last Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos, did not practice all week and is one of 10 players the Packers listed as questionable on Thursday’s injury report.

Joining Tom were running back Josh Jacobs (knee); wide receiver Christian Watson (chest/shoulder); safety Evan Williams (knee); defensive end Kingsley Enagbare (illness); wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (ankle); running back Chris Brooks (chest); offensive lineman Darian Kinnard (neck); and defensive ends Collin Oliver (hamstring) and Brenton Cox (groin), both of whom would need to be added to the 53-man roster in order to play.

The Packers ruled out tight end Josh Whyle (concussion), running back MarShawn Lloyd (calf/hamstring) and offensive lineman John Williams (back). Lloyd was activated to the 53-man roster in a procedural move earlier this week and is headed back to injured reserve after his comeback from the calf injury was derailed by the hamstring. Williams has been on the physically unable to perform list all season but had his 21-day practice window opened this week.

Tom said he doesn’t think his lack of practice during the week would prevent him from playing,

“We’ve had weeks here where we didn’t practice. Like Thanksgiving week, we really didn’t practice,” Tom said. “But it just depends on how my knee is feeling once we get to gameday.”

“If I wake up and it doesn’t feel good, I’m not going to play. But I think there’s still a chance.”

If Tom can’t go, the Packers could start Kinnard at right tackle or 2024 first-round draft pick Jordan Morgan, who has not played a single snap on offense for the past three games but has started nine games at left guard and right guard and played right tackle in Week 3 against Cleveland when Tom left after one snap when he aggravated his oblique injury.

Williams confirmed on Wednesday that his injury is to his MCL and that he sustained it on the same play on which defensive end Micah Parsons suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee against the Broncos.

“I’m kind of just working on being careful, rather than trying to push it too quickly,” said Williams, who did not practice all week. “A knee can be something that can definitely get a lot worse and a little bit of time. So, I’m just taking it slow. I’m seeing improvements day-to-day, for sure, in how I’m responding.

“If I’m capable, I’m definitely going to go. I’m not a guy that likes to hold back on playing. I believe in playing if you’re able.”

If Williams isn’t able to go, the Packers could start Zayne Anderson, who took over for him after his injury, or shift Javon Bullard to safety and play Nate Hobbs as the nickel cornerback.

Head coach Matt LaFleur called the fact that Watson practiced on a limited basis on both Wednesday and Thursday “encouraging,” and Watson himself expressed optimism that he’d play — despite winding up in a Denver-area hospital’s emergency room after going down against the Broncos.

“It is pretty impressive,” offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich said of Watson being in position to play. “We’ve got a few guys going through a lot to get themselves out on the field this Saturday. It’s just a testament to how much they love their teammates and how hard they’re willing to work for each other, and just shows everything you need to know about their character.”

Jacobs, who has been battling his left knee injury since Week 11, did not practice at all this week in hopes of resting the knee and reducing its swelling.

“His leadership and his work ethic and just his willingness to battle for his teammates is one of the more impressive things I’ve seen,” Stenavich said. “He exemplifies everything it means to be a Green Bay Packer — just how much he loves the game and he loves his teammates, and what his body’s gone through this year. His ability to get himself out there every week and play at a high level has been incredible.”
