The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their final injury report ahead of Week 16’s game against the Detroit Lions. Per the team’s last edition, three players have been ruled out for Sunday: CB James Pierre (calf), EDGE T.J. Watt (lung), and OG Isaac Seumalo (triceps).

EDGE Nick Herbig (hamstring) practiced in limited fashion Friday but is listed as doubtful. LS Christian Kuntz was also limited and is questionable after sustaining a knee injury Thursday.

All others don’t carry game statuses and are expected to play. That includes C Zach Frazier (triceps), WR Ben Skowronek (illness/hand), S Jabrill Peppers (illness), OT Andrus Peat (concussion) and DL Derrick Harmon (knee). Frazier and Peat were limited Friday but will be available against the Lions. Defensive lineman Cam Heyward (rest) and Keeanu Benton (ankle) will also suit up Sunday.

Starting SS Kyle Dugger failed to practice Friday for personal reasons but has no game status and will play.

Pittsburgh will enter Sunday’s game without two of its top three outside linebackers. While Watt has returned to the team facility and Herbig practiced on a limited basis today neither will suit up for the weekend unless Herbig’s health takes a drastic turn for the better. That leaves Alex Highsmith and Jack Sawyer as the Steelers’ top two options with the recently added Jeremiah Moon serving as the No. 3 outside linebacker. Sawyer will make his first NFL start, though he’s seen consistent reps off the bench this year.

Watt’s timetable to return isn’t clear but this will be the second game he’s missed after needing surgery on his lung after a dry needling treatment session last Wednesday.

Pierre will also sit out his second-straight game after suffering an in-game calf injury in Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens. Asante Samuel Jr. will make his second start for the team. He recorded an interception in his first start in last Monday’s win over the Miami Dolphins.

Peppers will serve as depth behind Dugger and Jalen Ramsey. He’ll also play on special teams where he serves as the up man of the punt coverage unit. Frazier will play despite missing Thursday with a triceps injury that limited him into Friday. Spencer Anderson will start for Seumalo at left guard. Assuming Anderson keeps his role as a sixth offensive lineman, it’s not clear who will sub in at left guard during those snaps. It could be Peat or C Ryan McCollum.

With Peat cleared from concussion protocol, the Steelers have to decide between starting him or Dylan Cook at left tackle. Signs point toward Cook getting the nod but that has not been confirmed.

Kuntz suffered a knee injury during Thursday’s practice. His status became more alarming when Pittsburgh signed LS Cal Adomitis to its practice squad earlier Thursday. Adomitis could be elevated to the Active/Inactive roster Saturday and serve as the Steelers’ starting snapper in Detroit. A Pitt product, Adomitis appeared in nine games for the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this season.

Harmon will make his return after sitting out the last three games with a knee injury. His return will serve as a major boost to Pittsburgh’s run defense. Skowronek has battled a hand injury and played last weekend wearing a cast on his left hand. For the last several weeks, Benton has appeared on the injury report with an ankle injury but has yet to miss time. Heyward receives regular rest days and will suit up.

The Steelers and Lions kick off Sunday at 4:25 PM/EST.
