Jaguars’ Liam Coen shares thoughts on Jakobi Meyers extension
The Jaguars inked a three-year contract extension with receiver Jakobi Meyers Thursday evening. Head coach Liam Coen shared his thoughts on Friday.
The Jacksonville Jaguars exited their Week 16 practice sessions with no surprises remaining on the game-status report.
Entering the week, Jaguars defensive end Josh Hines-Allen was unable to participate in practice on Wednesday due to an illness. He returned to practice the next two days and has been taken off the report, slated to play Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
The Jaguars came into the week understanding the team would be without rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten for a few weeks after he underwent surgery to repair a finger injury. Jacksonville signed former Seattle Seahawks RB DeeJay Dallas to replace Tuten. Dallas is a veteran back who can play on third downs and return kicks.
Jacksonville got a clean bill of health back for left tackle Walker Little, who looks ready to return from a concussion suffered a couple of weeks ago. It’s unclear whether the Jaguars will go back to Little, who was the team’s starting left tackle all season, or to Cole Van Lanen, who has excelled in that spot since Little got hurt.
The team also opened up the 21-day practice window for rookie linebacker Jalen McLeod. They opted not to activate him after his first week back from an ankle injury suffered in training camp that landed him on injured reserve to start the year.
Here’s the Jaguars’ game-status report ahead of their matchup against the Broncos.
