The Buffalo Bills reportedly hosted free agent edge rusher Matthew Judon for a visit on Friday, and they intend to sign him to their practice squad. This was reported by The Insiders, via NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.
Judon was released by the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, after signing a one-year deal with the team worth up to $6 million. He played in 13 games with the Dolphins, recording 17 tackles on the season. At 33 years old, he will have an opportunity to stay in the AFC East division and add a helping hand to Buffalo’s pass rush.
Judon hasn’t had a double-digit sack season since his run with the Patriots. In fact, he hasn’t registered a single sack so far this season. There’s hope that he will get more opportunities in Buffalo than he did in Miami, along with a shot at competing in the playoffs.
This is a low-risk, high-reward signing for the Bills, as they look to strengthen their team on the defensive side of the ball. Given the trajectory of the two teams, there’s a chance that the Patriots could see Judon and the Bills again in the postseason.
