Former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Matthew Judon has found a new NFL home just two days after being waived by the Miami Dolphins. Judon went unclaimed on waivers and is expected to sign with the Buffalo Bills‘ practice squad, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported.
The four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher has recorded 429 tackles (285 solo), 72 sacks and 177 QB hits over 10 NFL seasons. The Falcons acquired Judon in a trade with the New England Patriots during the 2024 offseason.
Atlanta sent a third-round pick to the Patriots in an effort to fix one of the NFL’s worst pass rushes. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out the way the team had hoped. Judon recorded 5.5 sacks for a Falcons defense that ranked 31st in the NFL with 31 total sacks last season.
The 33-year-old was not re-signed by Atlanta in the 2025 offseason, and later landed in Miami. Judon failed to record a single sack in his 13 games with the Dolphins this season. He now joins a Bills team looking to load up for a playoff run.
Atlanta went on to draft edge rushers Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. Pearce leads all NFL rookies with eight sacks, while Walker ranks second with 5.5 sacks. The Falcons have an impressive 48 sacks through the first 14 games of the season.
