The Buffalo Bills have decided to bolster their pass rush with a name that is known in western New York.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, former Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots edge defender Matthew Judon is set to sign in Buffalo. Judon will reportedly start out on the Bills’ practice squad:
Judon, 33, joins the Bills after being released by the Dolphins earlier this week after he signed in Miami in August.
Judon began his career as a fifth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2016 and then he jumped to the Patriots in 2021 where he took off. Judon also played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2024.
In 2021 and 2022 in New England, the four-time Pro Bowler had 12.5 and 15.5 sack seasons, respectively. He was often a thorn in the side of Buffalo’s offense while with the Patriots as well.
Despite those successes, Judon struggled in Miami this season.
In 13 games with Miami, Judon didn’t record any sacks. He recorded one tackle for loss and three quarterback hits. His 43.3 grade from PFF is the worst among all Dolphins defensive players who have played at least 15 percent of the team’s snaps.
In Buffalo, he could still provide a positive veteran rotation option and is an immediate upgrade there.
