The Cardinals brought in a long snapper and a left-footed punter this week.

The Arizona Cardinals often work out players early in the week for roster purposes — deciding who to add to the practice squad. Sometimes, they do it to help for the game coming, while other times it can be for the offseason.

The Cardinals had two such tryouts this week.

According to the NFL transaction report on Thursday, the Cardinals had long snapper Cal Adomitis in for a tryout and, on Friday, it was punter Jake Julien.

Aaron Brewer is the Cardinals’ long snapper, and he has been for a decade. However, he is 35 years old and it is uncertain how much longer he wants to play, so the Cardinals probably game Adomitis a look as a way of looking at a player for the offseason.

As for Julien, he is a left-footed punter. The Cardinals play the Atlanta Falcons and their punter, Bradley Pinion, is left-footed. Teams often bring in a left-footed punter for tryouts to give their returners a look at punts in preparation for a game against one.

Keep Adomitis in mind after the season when the Cardinals start signing players to futures deals. He might be one of them.
