The Philadelphia Eagles have had a major problem at the cornerback position this season, so much so that they went out and acquired both Jaire Alexander and Michael Carter at the trade deadline.
Alexander never actually suited up for the Eagles, though, and Carter is really nothing more than a decent depth piece at the position.

Philadelphia definitely needs a more reliable option to place opposite Quinyon Mitchell, and Max Chadwick of Pro Football Focus feels the team could find its answer in the NFL Draft.
In a recent mock draft, Chadwick projected the Eagles to land Clemson cornerback Avieon Terrell with the 21st overall pick.
“The Eagles are locked in at one outside cornerback spot with Quinyon Mitchell and boast an elite slot defender in Cooper DeJean, but there’s still room to upgrade opposite Mitchell,” Chadwick wrote. “Terrell fits that need perfectly, owning a 90.3 PFF grade since 2024 and carrying the pedigree as the younger brother of All-Pro cornerback A.J. Terrell.”

Terrell is one of the top corners in what is a rather loaded draft class at the position and just completed a 2025 campaign in which he racked up 48 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, nine passes defended and five forced fumbles.

The 20-year-old is a bit undersized, but he compensates with sheer tenacity, as evidenced by the fact that he has forced eight fumbles over the last couple of seasons.
Terrell arrived at Clemson in 2023 and became a full-time starter for the Tigers during his sophomore campaign, when he registered 58 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a pair of interceptions.
The Atlanta native has already declared for the 2026 NFL Draft in spite of having another year of eligibility.
Philadelphia’s defense has definitely looked considerably better during the second half of the season, but there is no question that the unit as a whole could stand to see some improvement heading into next year.

The Eagles aren’t projected to have a ton of cap room to make moves in free agency, so they will probably have to sort out their issues via the draft this coming April.
We’ll see if Terrell ends up on their radar.
