There’s opportunity for Diggs to re-establish himself in the final three games after what has been a rough 2025.
Diggs, who spent training camp on the physically unable to perform list, has yet to generate any interceptions or pass break-ups in six games played this season. Injuries have plagued the 27-year-old CB since signing a five-year, $97 million extension in 2023, notching just three interceptions (19 games) in that span. He generated 17 INTs in his first three seasons, including an 11-pick campaign in 2021 that amounted to an All-Pro selection.
Dallas revamped its defense at the trade deadline since Diggs has been shelved, and the arrival of Quinnen Williams immediately boosted a unit that was previously the club’s downfall. The Cowboys went on to win their next three games, topping Philadelphia and Kansas City in the process to propel them back into the playoff mix.
However, two straight losses to the Lions and Vikings ended the Cowboys’ best stretch of the season, dooming their playoff chances. A Philadelphia Eagles win over the Washington Commanders on Saturday will officially eliminate Dallas from postseason contention.
The Cowboys (6-7-1) are set to kick off against the Chargers (10-4) at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
