According to a recent report, one of the Colts’ rivals will be reaching out to Lou Anarumo about their head coaching opening.

Sources say the Titans are expected to reach out to Lou Anarumo, Jeff Hafley, Matt Burke and Jesse Minter regarding their head coaching vacancy.

Internally, Matt Nagy is also viewed as a serious candidate. More names I’m hearing: https://t.co/D8T2743XeN pic.twitter.com/si0Hawu2Hd

The Tennessee Titans will reportedly be reaching out to a member of the Indianapolis Colts’ coaching staff about their head coaching opening.

According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, one of the head coaching candidates that the Titans want to speak to is Colts‘ defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.

Russini also mentioned that Matt Nagy, Matt Burke, and Jesse Minter are on that list as well.

Anarumo has already been connected to the New York Giants‘ opening as well.

Despite navigating injuries on the defensive side of the ball this season, Anarumo’s defense continues to produce in his first season with the team.

The Colts will enter Week 16 ranked 12th in points per game allowed, ninth in yards per rush, 17th in yards per pass attempt, and ninth in red zone defense. The Colts are near the top of the NFL in interceptions as well.

Anarumo also has a strong track record from his time with the Bengals.

He runs a malleable and quick-to-adjust defensive scheme that adapts to what each opponent is doing and what his players do best. In part, that’s how he earned the nickname the “Mad Scientist” during his time in Cincinnati.

For now, the Colts still have three games left in the regular season as they look to make a playoff push. But once the offseason arrives, we could be hearing Anarumo’s name quite a bit in head coaching searches.
