It’s tough to know what to expect from the Miami Dolphins when they face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Seventh-round rookie Quinn Ewers is set to make his first ever NFL start and he’s only thrown eight passes leading up to his debut.

Three of those passes went to Malik Washington, receivers Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Dee Eskridge were targeted two times each, and Jaylen Waddle was thrown to once. That’s eight passes to receiver and none to tight ends or running backs.

Does that matter? It’s hard to say. With the Dolphins facing a 31-6 deficit against the Cleveland Browns when Ewers entered the game, the team wasn’t running its usual offensive game plan. So who could Ewers be looking to Sunday against the No. 32 ranked Cincinnati defense?

Here’s our pick for the Dolphins player who could be the best bet to score against the Bengals:

Jaylen Waddle anytime TD: +210

Presumably, the Dolphins will want to stick with the formula that earned them four straight wins in the back half of the season. That should mean plenty of De’Von Achane leading the way for the Miami offense.

But Dolphins coaches have praised Ewers for his conviction and willingness to play the quarterback position with confidence. While he fumbled twice against the Browns, those traits also showed up when he completed a 40-yard pass down the left sideline with pressure in his face.

While Miami would be wise to lean on the run, the offense will operate at a much higher level if Ewers can use play action and force the defense to respect his arm. And that should mean some deep targets for Waddle. With the anytime touchdown odds over +200 for the Dolphins’ No. 1 receiver, it’s worth the risk.
