The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are digging deep for their Week 16 showdown with the Carolina Panthers.

As announced on Saturday afternoon, the Bucs have elevated outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul to their active roster ahead of tomorrow’s divisional clash at Bank of America Stadium. The former All-Pro, three-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion was signed to Tampa Bay’s practice squad back on Dec. 9.

Pierre-Paul, who turns 37 years old on Jan. 1, has not played an NFL down since Week 14 of the 2023 campaign. That last appearance came as a member of the Miami Dolphins.

This marks Pierre-Paul’s second stint with the Buccaneers. His first spanned from 2018 to 2021, in which he was a member of the franchise’s Super Bowl LV-winning team.

Over his 14-year pro career, Pierre-Paul has recorded 94.5 sacks, 21 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries and five interceptions.
