The New York Giants (2-12) host the Minnesota Vikings (6-8) at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
The Giants came up short again last week at home, and were handed an eighth consecutive defeat with a 29-21 loss to Washington Commanders.

While Big Blue was able to keep it close with a pair of touchdowns in the second half, the difference was the second quarter. Washington outscored New York, 19-7, in the final 65 seconds with a punt return touchdown and a field goal as time expired to end the half, taking a commanding 22-7 lead heading into the locker room.
Another loss means the Giants continue to hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft next April with three games left in the season.
It’s been an up-and-down season for the Vikings, who were eliminated from playoff contention last weekend prior to their 34-26 upset victory over the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 15.

Will the Giants’ losing streak continue, or can they pull off the upset as a home underdog against the Vikings?
Here are our staff predictions for Giants vs. Vikings from MetLife Stadium in Week 16:
Art Stapleton
The pick: Vikings 28, Giants 20
Here’s why: After hearing a bunch of criticism for most of this season due to injury and ineffectiveness, QB J.J. McCarthy has been outstanding the past two weeks for Minnesota. He has five touchdown passes and just one interception in a pair of wins over the Commanders and the Cowboys, also adding a TD run against Dallas. The Giants still hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft with three games to play thanks to an eight-game losing streak, according to Tankathon.com projections. QB Jaxson Dart is one of the few bright spots and he threw two more touchdowns in Sunday’s loss, but even the rookie is getting worn down by the losing.

Bert Bainbridge
The pick: Vikings 28, Giants 17
Here’s why: Thanks to a loss to the lowly Commanders last weekend, the Giants are now tied with the Las Vegas Raiders for the longest losing streak in the league at eight games and still own the top spot in next year’s draft.
Since the losing streak started two months ago, no Giants opponent has scored fewer than 24 points. The last time Big Blue’s defense allowed fewer than that amount? Arguably their lone highlight of the season so far when they defeated the Eagles 34-17 in primetime all the way back in Week 6.
That won’t change in Week 16, as Vikings’ QB J.J. McCarthy and superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson finally get on the same page, as Jefferson torches this lackluster G-Men secondary to lead Minnesota to victory at MetLife on Sunday afternoon.

Bob Jordan
The pick: Vikings 34, Giants 10
Here’s why: Vikings’ head coach Kevin O’Connell wasn’t pleased when quarterback J.J. McCarthy peformed the “Griddy” to cap off a touchdown run during the Sunday night win over the Cowboys. “I guess we are in the entertainment business,” O’Connell said. When are the Giants going to have problems like that?
Dave Rivera
The pick: Vikings 24, Giants 19
Here’s why: The Giants are on track to start rookie kicker Ben Sauls, and it will be interesting to see if he can keep them in this game against the Vikings. He’ll have a solid NFL debut, but it won’t be enough as the Giants’ losing streak hits nine.

Chris Iseman
The pick: Vikings 31, Giants 14
Here’s why: The Giants are absolutely free falling while the Vikings have some momentum after beating Dallas.
Brian Marron
The pick: Vikings 24, Giants 16
Here’s why: J.J. McCarthy excelled the past two weeks against porous defenses, and now he and the Vikings get to face another such unit in the Giants. Minnesota should be able to generate enough offense to win while Brian Flores and the Vikings defense holds off Jaxson Dart.
