The Denver Broncos made several roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
First, the team activated guard Ben Powers (biceps) from injured reserve to the 53-man roster, marking his return after being sidelined for more than two months. Denver had room for Powers after waiving backup lineman Calvin Throckmorton on Thursday. Throckmorton cleared waivers on Friday and re-signed with the team’s practice squad on Saturday, a second move.
The team did not place linebacker Justin Strnad (foot) on injured reserve, a sign that there’s hope he could return in fewer than four weeks. The Broncos currently only have three healthy inside linebackers on the 53-man roster (Dre Greenlaw, Alex Singleton, Jordan Turner) after Karene Reid (hamstring) was downgraded to out on Saturday.
In third and fourth moves, the team elevated quarterback Sam Ehlinger and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell from the practice squad to the game-day roster for Week 16. They will revert back to the practice squad on Monday.
