It was news that was expected, but LSU Tigers wide receiver Aaron Anderson has officially declared for the NFL draft on Saturday afternoon.
Anderson was a four-star recruit out of high school. The 247Sports composite rankings had him listed as the No. 35 player in the nation, the fourth-best wide receiver and the top player from Louisiana.

Before coming to the Tigers, he actually first went to the Alabama Crimson Tide. It was a brutal blow to lose such a prized in-state recruit to a bitter rival. After one season of not seeing the field, Anderson came back home.
The 5-foot-8 weapon has become a solid slot receiver, but his production peaked as a sophomore. With the entire LSU offense struggling this season, Anderson’s numbers were essentially cut in half and he had five less touchdowns.
He developed a great relationship with Garrett Nussmeier, becoming the go-to option for when the Tigers had to have a play.
He finishes his LSU career with 106 catches for 1,341 yards and five touchdowns.

Going to the East-West Shrine Bowl will give him the opportunity to prove to coaches and scouts that the injuries are past him and that his lessened production was because of the offense struggling as a whole.
Right now, he projects as a mid-to-late round draft prospect. A solid showing that week and a good combine performance could help raise his stock a bit. He will have a bit to overcome given that he is a smaller-framed wide receiver.
