After their flight had to turn around for mechanical issues, the Minnesota Vikings finally arrived in New Jersey late Saturday for their Sunday afternoon game against the New York Giants.
The Vikings’ team plane took off from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Saturday, but the problem was discovered soon after departure and the flight returned to the airport, a team spokesperson told the Associated Press.
A second plane carrying the team took off just after 7:30 p.m. CST and landed at Newark Liberty International Airport shortly before 11 p.m., according to a social media post by a Minnesota Star Tribune reporter who covers the team.
Minnesota is 6-8 and, like the 2-12 Giants, has been eliminated from playoff contention.
Kickoff time is 1 p.m. Sunday.
