The New Orleans Saints keep winning, but their pick in the 2026 NFL draft hasn’t fallen as far as you’d think. After beating the New York Jets by a lopsided margin of 29-6 on Sunday, they slot in at No. 8, per the experts over at Tankathon. Depending on whether the Atlanta Falcons fall short to the Arizona Cardinals, they could fall back to No. 9. But it’s looking more and more likely that the Saints will stay inside the top 10 picks.
How wildly could things change? We’ve got just two games left on the regular season schedule, and the Saints will spend them on the road facing off with the Tennessee Titans (who improved to 3-12 after dismantling an out-of-sorts Kansas City Chiefs team) and that same pesky Falcons group. If the Saints win out, the highest they would pick is probably 13th or 14th overall. Losing one or both of those games would help their draft pick, but in what looks like a weak class at the top, that may not be what you want.

It’s going to be interesting to see where the Saints end up and which underclassmen end up declaring for the draft. Right now, they’re in a prime spot to add a wide receiver or a defender who could help make Tyler Shough’s job easier, but the best prospects probably wouldn’t be on the board. But who knows? We’ll see how things develop in the weeks ahead.
