COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Texas A&M football ended its season Saturday at Kyle Field with a playoff loss to the University of Miami, but fans said this year’s run gave them plenty to celebrate.
Despite the playoff defeat, Aggie fans expressed pride in the team’s performance this season. Abby McNeill said she has tuned in for all the games this season.
“I’ve been watching all season long, and they’ve been doing fabulous – I’m so sad about today, but we’ve had a good run,” McNeill remarked.
Taylor DeLeon, an Aggie fan, spoke about the football season and expressed optimism for the next season.
“I think they had a really good season. I think there’s a lot of things they can work on but overall, it was a really solid season, and I hope to see them in the playoffs again,” DeLeon said.
Looking ahead to next season
Following Saturday’s loss, fans shared their thoughts on how the team can build momentum for next season.
Biju Abhiram, an A&M junior, said there is one main area he hopes the team can improve upon.
“Passing for sure — I think Marcel Reed is a GOAT but he needs to pass more,” Abhiram commented. “We didn’t have any crazy plays like that or Moss — he didn’t do any crazy runs.”
DeLeon said the team’s defensive performance could improve but praised the overall coaching and play calling.
“I think the defensive qualities could’ve been better, but I think overall — play calling, coaches, everything is pretty solid,” Deleon remarked. “Just need to work with each other and work better.”
For many fans, this was the most successful season they had seen in years, and they hope for continued success next year.
