NEW ORLEANS — You would understand if the Jets team bus stopped on Bourbon Street on the way to the airport Sunday to drown their sorrows.
The Jets lost 29-6 to a Saints team that is not going to the playoffs, playing a rookie quarterback and is in the first year of a rebuild under coach Kellen Moore.
This is the third straight week the Jets lost by more than 20 points. Think about that for a second. In the NFL, the league where games consistently come down to the final minutes or seconds, the Jets games are over well before the fourth quarter arrives.
At least on Sunday, the Jets made it to the third quarter before the Saints pulled away. The games against the Dolphins and Jaguars in the past two weeks were over in the first quarter.
