TOPEKA (KSNT) – A potential move for the Kansas City Chiefs to the Sunflower State is on the minds of many fans, and they could soon get an answer.

On Monday, the Legislative Coordinating Council will meet ahead of a New Year’s Eve deadline, when the Chiefs will need to reach a deal with Kansas to secure funding for a stadium. One of the council’s members previously said she expects the Chiefs to be on the agenda.

“I’ve been a Chiefs fan all my life, but it’d be good for the economy,” said David Agnew, a Chiefs fan 27 News interviewed in southwest Topeka. “I think our governor’s been doing really good on our economy.”

“Our money’s going toward a stadium being built by people who maybe have the means to build that stadium,” said Gabe Walker, another Chiefs fan 27 News interviewed in west Topeka. “Instead of using our tax dollars to build it I think maybe some others should be pitching in.”
