McCaffrey Reaches 1,000 (Again)
Running back Christian McCaffrey reached the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season, finishing with 21 carries for 117 yards at 5.6 yards per carry. He added six receptions for 29 yards and two receiving touchdowns, bringing his season totals to 1,039 rushing yards and 849 receiving yards. With 1,800-plus scrimmage yards this year, McCaffrey became just the fifth player in NFL history to accomplish that feat in at least five different seasons.
Robinson Scores His First as a Niner
Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson found the end zone for the first time in a 49ers uniform, catching a 22-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to tie the game. Robinson made the most of his targets and finished with two catches for 23 yards. The score came just one day after San Francisco officially clinched a playoff spot, keeping Robinson’s streak alive of never missing the postseason in his NFL career.
Rookies Deliver in the Trenches
San Francisco’s rookie defensive linemen made their presence felt on the biggest stage. C.J. West recorded his first career sack in the second quarter, dropping quarterback Philip Rivers for an eight-yard loss. Alfred Collins followed in the fourth quarter with his first NFL sack, also forcing a fumble.
