It’ll be six missed games for Higbee and Havenstein while on injured reserve
Tight end Tyler Higbee and offensive lineman Rob Havenstein will not be activated from IR this week, McVay said. “They’re not quite ready yet,” he said.

It’ll be at least one more week until Tyler Higbee and Rob Havenstein return from injured reserve. Sean McVay announced on Monday that both veterans will remain on IR through Week 17.
They’re still not ready to be activated just yet, so the Rams will take their time with their two offensive veterans. Havenstein and Higbee have both missed the last five games while on IR.
Havenstein is dealing with ankle and knee bursitis, and Higbee has an ankle injury that has kept him out for the last month.
McVay cited the short week as a reason to keep Higbee and Havenstein on injured reserve rather than activating them last week to play against the Seahawks, but even after having some extra time to rest and recover, they’re not quite game ready.
Fortunately, Colby Parkinson and the Rams’ other tight ends have been great in Higbee’s place, and Warren McClendon Jr. is performing like one of the best right tackles in the league with Havenstein out.
