Wide receiver Gavin Honore is transferring from one high school football powerhouse to another.

After spending the last three seasons at Mater Dei (Calif.), Honore announced on Monday via X that he will play his senior season at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas next season.

In nine games as a junior for the Monarchs this fall, Honore caught 23 passes and turned them into 368 yards and two touchdowns, per MaxPreps. He reeled in six touchdowns as a sophomore in 2024.

Honore has been committed to Georgia since June 2. The Murrieta, Calif. native is the No. 498 overall prospect and No. 69 WR in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies.

Mater Dei had a down season by its standards this fall, finishing with a 10-3 record. It finished as the No. 24 team in the nation and No. 3 team in California, per the Massey Ratings. Bishop Gorman won another Nevada state title and finished 12-1 — its lone loss came against Mater Dei on Sept. 19. The Gaels closed the year as the No. 26 team nationally and No. 1 team in Nevada.

Honore is now planning to join what will be another impressive roster in Las Vegas. He’s currently one of six commits for Georgia in the 2027 cycle and remains locked in with the SEC program.
