Welcome back to the Pro Bowl, Derek Stingley Jr.
The Houston Texans‘ All-Pro cornerback was named to the Pro Bowl roster on Tuesday, alongside teammates Will Anderson Jr., Azeez Al-Shaair and Nico Collins. All four players were named to the starting roster, with the previous three being named to the Pro Bowl before the 2025 season.

A shutdown defensive back who recently scored his first NFL touchdown on a pick-six in Sunday’s 23-21 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, Stingley has become one of the top defenders over the past three seasons. He’s the only player since 2023 to total at least four interceptions in each season, while also leading the league with 44 pass breakups during that span.
In 15 games, the recently-paid defensive back has recorded 32 tackles, 13 pass breakups and four picks.
Around the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks lead all teams in Pro Bowl players with six each. As for depth, Texans safety Calen Bullock, nickel defender Jalen Pitre and cornerback Kamari Lassiter were listed as Pro Bowl alternates.

While the Pro Bowl title is nice to the sound of names around the NFL, the goal is for Houston not to have any players partake in the Pro Bowl since it’ll be playing in the Super Bowl come February 10. Should the Texans miss the Super Bowl and have representatives show up the week prior for events, culminating in a flag football game on Feb. 3.
The event will be held in San Francisco.
The Texans return to the field on Saturday to take on the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
