Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Brett Rypien has landed with a new team.
According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Rypien was claimed on waivers by the Minnesota Vikings.
The Colts released Rypien from the 53-man roster over the weekend to make room for defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, who was activated from injured reserve.

Rypien joined the Colts’ practice squad in mid-October to bolster the quarterback depth when Anthony Richardson was placed on injured reserve.
Rypien was signed to the 53-man roster prior to Week 15. He was inactive for that week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Rypien did not appear in any games for the Colts. Undrafted in 2019, Rypien has appeared in 11 games and made four starts in his NFL career.
Phillip Rivers will remain the Colts’ starting quarterback, while Riley Leonard is the backup. Richardson remains on injured reserve for the time being.
