It looked like he was considering handing the TD football to a fan, but when he got there on the road, all he saw was a group of Indianapolis Colts fans.

So instead of giving the ball away, Jennings faked a toss and kept it for himself.

It’s a moment that got a lot of attention, so during Tuesday’s media availability, Jennings was asked about it.

He had a simple explanation.

“She didn’t have any 49ers gear on,” Jennings said, “so that’s what she got.”

Seems like fair logic.

Jennings and the 49ers sure got the last laugh, too.

Brock Purdy threw five touchdowns, the ‘Niners defense added a pick-6, and they won 48-27 to spoil the Philip Rivers party in Indy.

Not a bad night at the office for the visitors, but pretty rough for the home fans.
