For many Cleveland Browns fans, the beginning of the end for the current roster came when the team traded for QB Deshaun Watson and gave him a huge guaranteed contract. Since that move in the 2022 offseason, Watson has played in just 19 games with a record of 9-10, 61% completion percentage, 3,365 yards, 19 TDs and 12 INTs.
On Tuesday, before the Browns Week 17 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, HC Kevin Stefanski announced that Watson would not join the team’s roster and would remain on the reserve list for the rest of the 2025 season:
That means that Watson will not add any stats to the above totals, leaving his four-year journey with the Browns lacking over two and a half years’ worth of games.
