A lost season for the Commanders means a good finish for Tress Way, as the “People’s Punter” has named the NFC’s Punter for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.

Way, 35, earned his third Pro Bowl nod, tying Matt Turk (1996-98) for the most by a Washington punter, after a season that, through Week 16, has seen him punt 50 times for 2,362 yards (a 47.24 gross average) with a 43.8 net average, which is second in the NFC.

Just another strong season in a strong career for Way, who is the Commanders’ all-time leader in punt yardage and net punting average, and is sixth all-time with 194 games played as a Commander – and could tie Len Hauss for fifth if he appears in both of the final two games.

Way was the only Commander named to the initial team but not the only potential representative, as Nick Bellore was named third alternate as a special teamer. Jaylin Lane was also named second alternate as a return specialist, but as he is on injured reserve following a leg injury suffered in Saturday’s loss, he likely would not attend if his name were to be called.
