Kentucky still has 11 full scholarship wide receivers but this was a position where new head coach Will Stein, offensive coordinator Joe Sloan, and wide receivers coach Joe Price III all likely wanted to find at least one plug-and-play starter in the transfer portal. A name emerge on Tuesday.

The Cats are a major contender for Auburn wideout Malcolm Simmons.

Among the early schools to watch for Auburn WR Malcolm Simmons are Kentucky + Arkansas, sources tell @On3sports.

Simmons has posted 908 receiving yards on 65 catches in the last two seasons. He’s repped by @caseygunn0.

The class of 2024 recruit was a top-200 recruit out of Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell who signed with Auburn. Malcolm Simmons played 292 offensive snaps as a true freshman for head coach Hugh Freeze in 2024 and recorded 40 receptions for 451 yards to go along with one punt return touchdown. Simmons backed them in 2025 with 25 receptions for 457 yards and three total touchdowns as a sophomore. The wideout with two years of eligibility remaining will enter the portal next month. Kentucky will be in the hunt and is expected to receive a visit.

An SEC transfer portal recruitment is brewing for Malcolm Simmons after a solid first two seasons on the Plains. Kentucky is very much in the mix as this program looks to add some top-end talent at wide receiver to the roster this offseason after signing five high schools prospects during the early signing period.
