The NFL’s Christmas Day lineup is lacking serious holiday magic this year
Christmas Day 2025 is already looking like a bust for the NFL due to injuries and teams already eliminated from playoff contention.
The Kansas City Chiefs will face the Denver Broncos for the second time this season in a special Christmas Day game.
The last time these divisional rivals played each other was back in November, with the Broncos managing to squeak by a win after a last-second field goal put them up 22-19. The Chiefs’ fortunes have only gone downhill since, with them losing four out of their next five matchups, as well as being eliminated from the playoffs.
The Chiefs also lost superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes to a season-ending knee injury earlier this month.
With only two more games remaining in the season, let’s see if Kansas City can finish off strong with a Christmas Day upset.
Here’s what to know about the Chiefs’ Week 17 game:
Who is the Chiefs’ quarterback this week?
In a cruel twist of fate, Mahome’s replacement, Gardner Minshew II, also suffered a knee injury during last week’s game against the Tennessee Titans and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Third-string quarterback Chris Oladokun will be the team’s starter for Thursday’s Christmas night game.
