The New York Giants will return to East Rutherford on Wednesday as preparations begin for a Week 17 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, also known as The Tank Bowl.
While players hit the field, team scouts are likely to keep their eyes on the Hawai’i Bowl — a tilt between California and Hawai’i — which is the only college game being played on Christmas Eve.

Will there be superstars on the field in Hawai’i? One never knows. These are the times NFL scouts find diamonds in the rough.
Here is a quick breakdown of the players the Giants should have their eyes on today.

Player spotlight: California CB Hezekiah Masses
There really aren’t many notable prospects to pick from on Wednesday, but one potential option is Cal cornerback Hezekiah Masses, who somehow flew under the radar this season despite being named to three All-America squads.
When analysts and experts talk about cornerbacks, his name rarely comes up. But the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Masses led the FBS with 18 passes defensed and was tied for second in the ACC with five interceptions.

Although a bit on the lean side — something he would have to adjust at the NFL level — Masses excels in man coverage and hounds receivers throughout their routes. He is very physical and has both high-level acceleration and deceleration, which keeps him glued to opposing players in coverage.
Masses also possesses impressive instincts and ball recognition, and his football IQ is off the charts for someone his age.
Ahead of Wednesday’s game, Masses projected as a mid-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
