METAIRIE, La. – It may have been the second day of practice, but the first injury report for the Week 17 matchup between the New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans has arrived. On it, several Saints that were expected to be out of practice remained out while one player progressed and could be back on the field this weekend.

Here is the information from Wednesday’s injury report:

All of the absences follow what was expected. However, seeing Richards back to full participation is a plus. He might not start over William Sherman, who has been a big part of the last two weeks, but he could be a good emergency or jumbo option when needed. Although, Friday will be more telling in that equation.

Meanwhile, Tipton is back on the injury report, this time with a groin injury. One to watch going into the weekend.

The Titans have a busy report as well, though only one player did not practice. An already hampered secondary is managing another potential loss. One big name to watch for the Titans all week will be Helm. The tight end is the team’s third-leading receiver in yards and has been an important piece for a lackluster passing attack. If he’s limited or out entirely, that could be a substantial road block for Tennessee and quarterback Cam Ward.

New Orleans will not hold practice on Thursday this week (Christmas Day), the team instead took the field on Tuesday. However, there will still be an estimated injury report released.
