FOXBOROUGH – The Patriots were missing quite a few significant players during the viewing portion of Wednesday’s practice.

Harold Landry (knee), Carlton Davis III (illness), Kayshon Boutte (concussion), Mack Hollins (abdomen), Robert Spillane (foot/ankle), Khyiris Tonga (foot) and Jared Wilson (concussion), C.J. Dippre (illness) weren’t spotted.

The news, however, wasn’t all dire.

On the positive side, running back TreVeyon Henderson, who left Sunday’s win over Baltimore with a head injury, participated in a red non-contact jersey.

It appears he’s farther along in the concussion protocol than Boutte and Wilson, who weren’t present in wake of the head injuries they suffered Sunday.

Morgan Moses (knee) and Thayer Munford (knee) were present, as was DeMario Douglas, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. They were all limited.

Same with Khyiris Tonga, who also didn’t finish Sunday’s game thanks to a foot injury.

Milton Williams, whose window was activated off IR, took part. He was limited.

Also in the limited category were Charles Woods (foot), and Anfernee Jennings (ankle).

During his morning press conference with the media, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel indicated Spillane, who has missed the last two games with a foot/ankle injury, would not practice this week.

He said it would take “a Christmas miracle” for that to happen.

Spillane, however, is no longer wearing a walking boot which is a good sign.
