Late in the season with nothing to play for, the Cleveland Browns have two games left in the regular season. Unfortunately for the Browns, their injury list entering the Week 17 AFC North matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers at Huntington Bank Field is a rather long one, featuring a number of key names.

Already missing the likes of TE David Njoku, OT Jack Conklin and CB Denzel Ward last week, the Browns still have another long list of players working through ailments late in the season. Cleveland will also be without standout rookie running back Quinshon Judkins after the Ohio State product suffered a severe leg injury in its loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.

As the work week starts for the matchup with the Steelers, Cleveland had a number of players limited or missing practice Wednesday. The Browns posted the Wednesday injury report to X just moments ago. In total, the Browns had 16 players on their first injury report of the week.

The Browns made a pair of roster decisions early in the week, placing Judkins on Injured Reserve after he had successful surgery on Tuesday to repair leg injuries he sustained against the Bills. As for quarterback Deshaun Watson, who had his practice window opened three weeks ago, the Browns are keeping him on Injured Reserve as he continues to recover from a torn Achilles.

Ward, who made the Pro Bowl again this season, missed last week with a calf injury, but told reporters Tuesday that he will play against the Steelers. Of course, head coach Kevin Stefanski slow-played Ward’s availability during his session with the media Tuesday, and that played out Wednesday during practice as Ward was limited. Ward has big plans for Sunday as is.

With the interior offensive line banged up with Joel Bitonio (knee), Wyatt Teller (calf) and Tevin Jenkins (shoulder) dealing with ailments, the Browns signed former Steelers center Kendrick Green to their 53-man roster off the Bills’ practice squad, giving them a bit more experienced depth ahead of Sunday.
