The Denver Broncos made several changes to the roster ahead of their Thursday Night Football showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas.

First, the Broncos signed tight end Marcedes Lewis and guard Calvin Throckmorton from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Lewis will provide more depth at tight end with Nate Adkins (knee) ruled out.

To make room for Lewis and Throckmorton on the active roster, Denver placed center Luke Wattenberg (shoulder) on injured reserve and waived running back Cody Schrader. Alex Forsyth will now start at center and Throckmorton will provide more depth on the interior offensive line.

Additionally, the Broncos elevated linebacker Levelle Bailey and wide receiver Michael Bandy from the practice squad to the game-day roster for Week 17. They will revert back to the practice squad on Friday. Bailey adds more depth with linebacker Dre Greenlaw (hamstring) out and Bandy gives the team another receiver with Pat Bryant (concussion) sidelined.

NFL teams are allowed to elevate up to two players to the game-day roster each week, and those players do not have to clear waivers before returning to the practice squad. However, there is a three-elevation limit per player each season.
