NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Middle Tennessee second-grader was on the field this week during the pregame coin toss at an NFL game in Nashville.
Nash Newton, an 8-year-old from Pulaski, got the opportunity to be on the field after winning the Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee’s annual Tennessee Titans Kids Captain Contest.
The contest for fans ages 6 to 12 gives winners “four lower-bowl tickets, a parking pass, red Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee cap, an official Titans Jersey, and most notably, the rare chance to step onto the field as an honorary captain.”

The Middle Tennessee boy was there before the Titans faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs, ultimately defeating them 26-9.
“Attending his first NFL game was a huge milestone for Nash, made even more special by the chance to step onto the field and meet Tennessee Titans players,” a press release said.
Jenny Newton, the 8-year-old’s mother, said the second-grader was elated to win the contest, describing him as energetic and “soft-hearted,” according to a press release on the contest.
“Seeing a young fan like Nash experience a Titans game day up close was truly unforgettable,” said Lance Collier, a Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee agent in the Pulaski area. “Being able to play a role in a day that brought so much joy to Nash and his family is something we value, and it’s a reminder of why community connections matter.”
