After Jourdan Lewis was placed on IR, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed another cornerback.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they signed cornerback Keith Taylor to the active roster on Thursday.

This move comes after the team also placed Jourdan Lewis on injured reserve with a foot injury. According to Tom Pelissero, Lewis will have surgery and miss the remainder of the season.

The addition of Taylor bolsters the cornerback depth.

Taylor was a fifth-round draft pick in 2021 by the Carolina Panthers. Over his career, Taylor has appeared in 47 games and made five starts. He most recently played with Atlanta.

His experience at the NFL level should help him acclimate to joining the Jaguars late in the season.

Taylor has played 970 defensive snaps, over 800 of which came during the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Over his career, he has totaled 77 tackles, allowed a completion rate of 74% on 84 targets at 14.1 yards per catch with four pass breakups.

Taylor has played 526 special teams snaps as well.

Without Lewis, Jarrian Jones will likely take over the starting nickel responsibilities, while Greg Newsome and Montaric Brown start on the outside. Christian Braswell will also provide depth.
