Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow doesn’t get shy in the media.

Burrow might send messages to the Bengals organization as of late when things go wrong, and those are usually messages those in the front office better understand more than fans.

But Burrow does get blunt when he sees good things, too.

One of those good things right in the eyes of Burrow? Budding defensive end Myles Murphy.

“I think Myles Murphy has really shown a lot the last couple of weeks,” Burrow told reporters this week. “I don’t know anything about the scheme or what his responsibility is on plays. I just see him making plays and impacting the game in a lot of different ways. You can say that for a lot of guys. A lot of young guys that are starting to step up that way.” …

Previously inching toward first-round bust status entering the season, Murphy has been a revelation over the last few weeks for the Bengals.

So much so, the conversation about the offseason has suddenly shifted from just how the Bengals might survive the possible loss of free agents Trey Hendrickson and Joseph Ossai, to how they might build around Murphy and Shemar Stewart.

Defensive end and pressure creators all across the front seven will be a point of emphasis for the Bengals this offseason, regardless.

But the fact Murphy has fans turning their heads and the franchise quarterback giving him a shoutout? It’s a boon for a guy who is suddenly back on the sheet as a possible building block of the future for the Bengals.
