Brock Purdy was at peak performance in prime time against the Colts on Monday, and star linebacker Fred Warner was loving every second of it. Warner joined “The Ryen Russillo Show” to discuss Purdy’s incredible game.
“To see the way that our offense came out and was hitting on all cylinders,” Warner said. “I mean, I think that was Brock Purdy’s best game of his career thus far.
Mr. Irrelevant threw for five touchdown passes in the 49ers’ 48-27 win, the first to do it since Joe Montana in 1990. Purdy still is in the beginning of his NFL career, but he has already had some unforgettable moments.
“The guy is a complete baller”, Warner stated. “The best in the game in my opinion, of course; we’re just deadly out there on offense.”
This is the ultimate compliment coming from Warner, especially with all the elite talent this season at the quarterback position.
“He has had outstanding performances since he has been here with us,” Warner continued. “That game showed just how poised he is. How he’s able to dissect defenses, deliver the football on any point of the field.”
Purdy said after the game that coach Kyle Shanahan was “in his bag” with the play calls. It just looked like everyone was on the same page, and as the postseason is just weeks away, it’s the perfect time for the offense to be clicking.
“Rolling out to his right, to his left, delivering the football,” Warner elaborated. “Finishing with six, not three. It was just unbelievable.”
Punter Thomas Morstead hasn’t seen the field in the month of December. If that doesn’t prove the 49ers’ offense is carrying this team, I’m not sure what will.
If Purdy continues to run the offense at this high of a level, a deep playoff push should be expected in Santa Clara come January.
