Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys will head into yet another offseason looking to make improvements to get back to the playoffs.

Once again, the Cowboys came up short this season. In their first year without superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons, Dallas showed signs of potential but those signs never became consistency.

Unfortunately, the team still has a lot of work left to do this offseason if it wants to be a playoff team in 2026.

After trading a player like Parsons, the pass rush was never expected to be elite. While the Cowboys performed decently, it has become clear that they could use another pass rushing threat. A new option could be made available during the NFL offseason.

Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys

With just two games remaining in the 2025 season, the Las Vegas Raiders have made the decision to shut down star edge rusher Maxx Crosby for Week 17 against the New York Giants. He has been dealing with a knee injury.

Crosby did not take kindly to being shut down. He wanted to play and decided to leave the team facility after they decided to shut him down and deny his wish of playing.

Could that cause an issue between Crosby and the Raiders? There were some rumors last offseason that he could get traded.

Should he hit the market, Dallas has been connected previously to Crosby as a trade candidate. It seems likely that Jones would have interest in acquiring a superstar pass rusher like the 28-year-old Las Vegas playmaker.

Throughout the course of the 2025 season in Las Vegas, Crosby has played in 15 games. He has racked up 73 total tackles to go along with 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception, and six defended passes. Adding those numbers to the Cowboys’ defense would be a huge step in the right direction.

On his contract, Crosby still has three years remaining through the 2029 season. Making a move to acquire him would give Dallas the elite defensive presence that it was missing without Parsons on the field.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding the Cowboys and Crosby this offseason. Jones is always looking to make aggressive moves and trading for Crosby would be exactly that.
