Pittsburgh Steelers rookie Yahya Black has been fined for his actions in last week’s win over the Detroit Lions.

Black was spotted via broadcast flipping the bird at the Lions sideline, a decision that’s cost the young defender $5,194 in fines for what the NFL deemed an “obscene gesture.”

While Black wasn’t penalized on the play, many assumed a fine was heading his way following his one-finger salute — but the same can’t be said for Alex Highsmith, who was docked $12,171 for a controversial tripping penalty on Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

Tempers definitely ran hot in the Week 16 win over Detroit. Between Black’s gesture and DK Metcalf’s antics with Lions fan Ryan Kennedy, the Steelers must remain disciplined as the postseason approaches.
