One of the two biggest games of the regular season for the San Francisco 49ers is on Sunday, when the team faces the Chicago Bears with both teams vying for the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs.
For the Bears, they would need some help to achieve that, even with a win, but for San Francisco, it is simple: win the final two games of the season on your home field.
However, that will be easier said than done, as their final two opponents are playoff teams with over 11 wins, and with the recent injuries they face, the task could be even more difficult.
On Friday, Matt Maiocco, 49ers analyst on NBC Sports Bay Area, posted on ‘X’ the current injury report for who would be out if a game-time decision were made at that moment.

All-Pro tight end George Kittle and young standout receiver Ricky Pearsall were the two notable names listed. While Maiocco reported on a previous tweet that Pearsall was at practice on Friday and making significant progress toward being available to play on Sunday, it appears to be the opposite for Kittle.
Kittle has not practiced since he suffered the injury against the Indianapolis Colts last week during the third quarter of the game and did not return. But before the injury, it was an all-time performance for the tight end, as he finished the game with seven catches, 115 receiving yards, and a touchdown.
As of right now, the official listing for Kittle is questionable for Sunday’s game, but with the luck the Niners have had with injuries this season, it may be best for them to have the mindset of winning the game without their elite tight end.
