The Pittsburgh Steelers have updated the injury status of two players ahead of Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, per Burt Lauten on X. OG Isaac Suemalo was downgraded to out, while DB Jalen Ramsey was upgraded to have no injury designation.

Seumalo (triceps) suffered his injury against the Miami Dolphins on Dec. 15 and will now miss his second game since then. Seumalo was limited in practice all week and finished with a questionable game status on Friday. They decided to shut him down for the week.
Depending on the outcome of the Baltimore Ravens versus the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night, this may not matter. The Steelers would likely have sat Seumalo anyway for the next two weeks if they clinch their playoff spot.
When healthy, Seumalo has been arguably the Steelers’ best offensive lineman in a group that has impressed this season. They will need him in the playoffs, and we may not see him again until then if they clinch in Week 17. Spencer Anderson and Andrus Peat will fill in during his absence. With Anderson a key part of the jumbo package at tackle-eligible, they have done a bit of rotating with Peat at left guard in those situations.
Ramsey had an illness that held him out of practice on Thursday and Friday, but he is now cleared to play. Chances are good that he is still not feeling 100 percent, but he is being deemed healthy enough to play. Ramsey serves an important role in the defense with injuries to James Pierre and Brandin Echols. He should play a solid mix of both safety and slot corner as he did last week after Echols’ injury.
With Seumalo out, the Steelers will likely elevate OL Jack Driscoll and DB Daryl Porter Jr. as they did a week ago.
