The Denver Broncos (13-3) have clinched an AFC West title after the Los Angeles Chargers (11-5) lost to the Houston Texans (11-5) on Saturday evening.
Now, even if the Broncos lose to the Chargers in Week 18, Denver will be the division champion and won’t be lower than the third seed in the AFC’s playoff picture. The Broncos are currently the No. 1 seed in the conference.
Denver would clinch the top seed with a win against L.A. next week. Or, even if the Broncos lose, they would still clinch the top spot with losses from the New England Patriots (12-3), Jacksonville Jaguars (11-4) and Buffalo Bills (11-4) on Sunday.
This marks the first time since 2015 that Denver has won the AFC West. The Broncos went 12–4 that season and went on to win Super Bowl 50. The Kansas City Chiefs then won nine straight division titles before being swept by Denver and missing the playoffs in 2025.
