When the NFL finalized its 2025 schedule in May, it had high hopes for the NFC East rivalry between the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles. The NFL had the Commanders and Eagles playing twice in the final three weeks of the regular season, including Week 18. It made sense, considering the two rivals met three times last season, including in the NFC Championship Game.

Things didn’t go as planned for the Commanders in 2025. Injuries and regression crushed Washington’s season. The Commanders are 4-12 heading into Week 18, while the Eagles are already 11-5 and NFC East champions. Washington has nothing to play for, while Philadelphia could play its starters due to playoff seeding.

On Sunday, the NFL revealed the Week 18 schedule, and the Commanders and Eagles will meet at 4:25 p.m. ET. Some believed the game could fall into the 1 p.m. timeslot, with Philadelphia already clinching the division. There are no Thursday or Monday night games in Week 18. The NFL has two games scheduled for Saturday: Carolina at Tampa Bay and Seattle at San Francisco.

The game between the Panthers and Buccaneers is for the NFC South title. Meanwhile, the 49ers and Seahawks are not only playing for the NFC West title, but also the NFC’s No. 1 overall seed. Three NFC West teams have already clinched playoff berths: Seattle, San Francisco and the Los Angeles Rams.
